Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation awarded $10 million toward the creation of the Baycrest Centre for Brain Fitness in 2008 (http://www.mri.gov.on.ca/english/news/Baycrest040708.asp). A portion of that investment was allocated to commercializing science-driven interventions to benefit an aging population. 

HTX (www.htx.ca/), which supports emerging and established Ontario-based companies to develop, produce and commercialize innovative market-leading Medical and Assistive Technologies, provided funding for the pre-commercial development of Cogniciti products.
