Dementia: A Caregiver's Guide

A guide providing caregivers with practical tips and coping strategies.

Dementia: A Caregiver’s Guide, updated third edition, provides caregivers with practical tips and coping strategies in such areas as: activities of daily living, communication, sex and intimacy, managing challenging behaviours, driving, falls prevention and home safety. It discusses new treatments, medication and legislation that have emerged since the previous printing. In addition, based on the feedback of persons with dementia and their caregivers, new sections were added on such topics as sleep, travelling with someone with dementia and what to expect in the later stages.

Dementia: A Caregiver’s Guide teaches caregivers how to help the person with dementia remain active and participate in meaningful activities for as long as possible. It also highlights the need for caregivers to take time to care for themselves.
