• What is Cogniciti?

Cogniciti Inc. ("Cogniciti" or "we") is a Canadian company based in Toronto, Ontario that aims to bring brain health solutions to people, businesses, and governments worldwide. Click here to learn more about us and what we do.

  • What is the Brain Health Registry?

There are many types of brain health research studies taking place in Canada, the US and the UK. Some are for basic research to study how the brain functions, some are for drug trials, some are for medical devices, and some are for Internet tools like the Cogniciti Brain Health Assessment you just completed. Research volunteers can participate in some studies from their homes while other studies require going to a test location.

Cogniciti’s Brain Health Registry brings researchers together with potential volunteers, making it easier for people interested in contributing to brain health research to become involved in relevant research studies.

  • What are the benefits of participating in the Brain Health Registry?

Brain health researchers are constantly looking for volunteers for their studies. Participating in the Brain Health Registry helps put you at the front-of-the-line to take part in studies that fit your profile and that may be of interest to you.

  • Does Cogniciti have any involvement in the research studies?

No. Cogniciti is often approached by research organizations looking for assistance in finding volunteers, but all research is completely independent of Cogniciti.

Cogniciti reviews research studies to determine if the research criteria provided aligns with the profiles of individuals who have registered with the Brain Health Registry.

  • When would Cogniciti provide my personal information to a research organization?

Cogniciti will only share your personal information with a research organization with your express (explicit) consent, in relation to a particular research study that fits your profile. Your participation in the Brain Health Registry and any further consent that you provide is strictly voluntary. You may withdraw (revoke) your consent at any time during the process.

  • If I agree to be contacted by a research organization, does that guarantee that I will be enrolled in their study?

No, it does not. The research organization might have research criteria that does not fit your background and that can only be determined once they have received your personal information and/or speak with you.

It is possible that you will not be contacted at all. In addition, you might decide, after speaking to the researcher, that the study is not right for you.

  • Who is responsible for the personal information that I provide to Cogniciti?

Cogniciti is responsible for how we collect, handle and use the personal information you provide through our Brain Health Assessment and our Brain Health Registry.

All of the personal information that Cogniciti collects and maintains is held on a secure server located in Canada. As a Canadian company, Cogniciti complies with applicable Canadian laws governing personal information.

Cogniciti’s Privacy Policy provides more information about the personal information that we may collect and our privacy practices, as well as your rights in relation to your personal information.

  • How does Cogniciti protect the personal data that it transfers to third party research organizations?

Cogniciti uses reasonable measures to safeguard the personal information that it transfers to third party research organizations. Providing your personal information to a third party research organization may involve the transfer of data outside of the jurisdiction in which you live.

  • Will I get paid for enrolling in a research study?

This depends on the study. This, along with other details of the study, will be outlined in the study overview that you will have the opportunity to review prior to making your decision to participate, or communicated directly from the research organization.

  • Is there a cost to join Cogniciti’s Brain Health Registry?
